Capacity U — prototype in development
Running the diagnostic on yourself.
Most journaling tools record events. Capacity U is being built to record the conditions around events — so the sequence you have been living inside becomes visible to you, rather than being reconstructed from memory after the fact.
What it is for
Noticing is easier when something is holding the record for you.
Memory compresses. A week later you may remember the outcome of a difficult moment and little of the conditions around it. Without a record, each occurrence can feel like the first one.
Capacity U is an early prototype built around a simple premise: if you capture a little of what was happening before, repeated logging may make patterns easier to notice over time — without needing anyone to interpret them for you.
Capacity U software remains a prototype in development and is not publicly available. CAPACITY Personal is a separate guided educational experience that is currently accepting intake submissions.
What kinds of observations it can hold
- The visible moment, written plainly
- The hours preceding it, in whatever detail you have
- Physical signals and when they first appeared
- Sleep, food, load, and unresolved conversations carried in
- What you initially assumed the moment meant
- What you noticed afterward that you had missed
- A single question to carry forward

Capacity U does not diagnose, score clinical risk, or provide treatment, and nothing it shows reduces responsibility for behavior. Internal methodology, question design, and any index logic remain unpublished while the work develops.
Why tracking matters
Patterns are invisible one instance at a time.
A single hard evening is a story. Several hard evenings that seem to follow the same kind of day is information you may be able to act on.
The purpose is not self-surveillance or a productivity score. It is to make your own conditions legible enough that you can plan around them — and to make repair more accurate when it is needed.
Get involved early
Testing groups are small and intentionally slow. If you want to be considered, send a note about the setting you would use it in.
